Invitations, Rings, Frames, Announcements

Printed invitations for IU Bloomington's formal Commencement ceremonies are mailed to permanent home addresses on file with the registrar about six weeks before the ceremonies -- November in the fall, and March in the spring. At the same time, emails are sent to all students informing them that the invitations have been sent to their homes. One of the best ways to make sure you receive all mailings is to complete your school’s application to graduate.

Mailing lists are refined as the semester progresses. If you or your family did not receive an invitation, please contact us.

Invitations to school recognition events and celebrations are handled by each sponsoring organization.

Students may purchase formal graduation announcements directly from Herff Jones, IU's licensed Commencement vendor, either online or at GradFair. Degree candidates who anticipate receiving honors should have ample time to order announcements after receiving notification from their schools. Printing and shipping of announcements generally takes 12 to 14 days.

Diploma Frames

A variety of frame styles are available online or in the IU Bookstore.

Indiana University class rings are on display at the IU Bookstore in the IMU and at the Virgil T. DeVault Alumni Center, 1000 E. 17th St. They can be ordered online here.
