Spring 2012 Grad Ceremony
General Information
The Graduate Commencement Ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 and will conclude about 4:30 p.m. It will be held in Assembly Hall, 1001 E. 17th Street.
Note: The Maurer School of Law holds a separate ceremony on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Call (812) 855-4809 for more information.
Eligibility to Graduate
You are eligible to graduate at the 2012 May Commencement if you are a candidate for a graduate degree who has completed all requirements for graduation by May 2012 or who will complete them by August 2012.
Candidates completing degree requirements between September 1 and December 31 participate in the December ceremony. There is no summer ceremony.
Invitations and Announcements
Printed invitations will mail in mid-March after Spring Break.
Customized graduation announcements are available for purchase at scheduled Grad Fairs in the spring and the fall, and online at Herff Jones, the university's authorized Commencement vendor. Announcements include the student's name and the title of his or her degree, the titles of the major(s) and where applicable, the minor(s), and whether the student has qualified for honors. Announcements can be ordered at any time; please allow 10 to 14 days for printing and delivery.
Online Orders Closed March 30; Distribution Begins April 30
Students who did not rent apparel earlier may do so on a first-come, first-served basis during distribution week. Complete information is available in the Caps and Gowns section.
Graduate students who are planning on working in the field of higher education may wish to consider buying their own regalia. Custom apparel is available for purchase from Herff Jones.
