Are you eligible to wear honor cords?
To have your graduation portrait taken, you can make an appointment with GradImages. You can also drop by GradFair without an appointment and we'll work you in!
The university sends formal invitations for May Commencement exercises to students’ permanent addresses in March. Invitations for December Commencement Exercises are mailed in November. One of the best ways to make sure you receive all mailings is to complete your school’s application to graduate. If you or your family did not receive an invitation, please contact us.
Caps and Gowns
Students can take care of all Commencement needs in one place at one time at GradFair:
- Rent caps and gowns.
- Purchase graduation announcements, class rings, and diploma frames.
- Have formal pictures taken in academic regalia.
- Visit information tables hosted by Commencement vendors, University Events and Commencement Services, and the Indiana University Alumni Association.
More detailed information addressing the dates, times, and venue for GradFair will be available after January 2017.
If you do not pre-order a cap and gown, you can still rent them during distribution week, but a late fee will be charged.
Note: Cap and gown orders are available only for the closest upcoming ceremony. Students intending to graduate in the fall may not order apparel in the spring. Any orders placed in the spring will not be carried over to the fall, and refunds will not be given. Likewise, May grads may not order caps and gowns in the fall.
